Router Firmware Update
I’ve had it, really, I was almost there and than I’ve got a router firmware update. But I will not complain, it is working as supposed. I’m now on R1.1.1 r1, and in Static IP Config Mode I can even set my own DNS Server. Thanks FON, life is easier now.
Main lesson learned: Between all the re-config exercises, it help to reboot the router to utilize the AutoConfig function if La Fontera+
Router Config not that easy
I can tell you. As I already own a WLAN Router (Siemens Gigaset SE105) for years, I like to use both routers in my network… And configuring this is not that easy. Especially if you want to get a max of coverage out of this config. Goal is to have a daisy chain configuration, which is actually working. Anyway.
And I continue to have problems accessing my public FON_AP. Probably need to spent some more time getting everytink right.

Now in Berlin there is another FON POP, my own one. I finally found the time to open the Router Boxes and install everything. But I’m still not there… I’m able to connect to the private Network of the FON Router, but not to the public one. And as time to play is running out, therefore I probably have to delay the resolution until the weekend. Anyway. Some short facts about the config: From DSL Splitter to DSL Modem, from there into my primary router and from there via cable to the FON La Fonera+. La Fonera+ is equipped with an external antenna, to generate some signal strength.
Will keep you posted about the progress.
